EMERGENCY PROGRAM

Emergency Program

BY APPOINTMENT ONLY

Provides three days of food to individuals within our service area.

We will serve individuals outside of our service area once. Then refer to another agency.

DELIVERY PROGRAM

(This program may take 8 weeks to begin).

AT THE PRESENT TIME SOME OF OUR ROUTES ARE ON A WAITLIST BASIS

Delivered monthly to medically referred individuals. This program provides a six-day supply of food, Foods for special diets, e.g., diabetic and low sodium, are included where needed.

DELIVERY REFERRAL WHAT IS NEEDED

The delivery program requires a medical referral (physical and or mental) , that can be from a doctor, nurse, social worker, or case manager. If the client (s) is (are) eligible the delivery may not begin for 4-8 weeks depending on the date of referral. I would need the following information as well.

1. Address

2. working phone number

3. physical or mental disability

4. household members

5. dietary restrictions

6. prefers coffee or tea

Unfortunately, no transportation is not an eligible reason. I wish we had the capacity to serve anyone without transportation, At the present time we are serving 225 households a month in our emergency program and 150 households in our delivery program. All done by volunteers.

Do you have a few hours a week to help The Community Food cupboard

The Cupboard is in need of volunteers to help with their Emergency Food Packaging & Distribution. Volunteers assist with the following tasks:

· Package bags of food for distribution

· Rotate food stored on shelves based on package expiration date

· Unpack weekly distribution of food received from Food link and other donations
